My review on the Jazooli 120 Colours Eyeshadow Eye Shadow Palette

Hello guys :)

Today, I received from Amazon my 120 colour eye shadow palette from Jazooli.

I was really excited when it came this morning I ran to the door! Haha!

The package was well wrapped in bubble wrap and cellophane.  There was no cracked or broken eye shadows in the set so I was very pleased!

There are many different colours included in this pallet.  They are all vibrant, so If you like bold stand out colours then this is the pallet for you! The pallet includes Neutral, Pastel, Vibrant, Matte, Shimmer and Speckled eye shadows.

The texture of eye shadows are very nice and so easy to apply.  The shadows are 19mm in diameter and the pallet measurements are L 22.5cm x W 14.2cm x H 1.7cm

Here are some of the pictures I took.

I am so happy with this product and I cant wait to start using all the different colours!

My review on the XCSOURCE® Professional Make-up Brush Set (24pcs)

Hello guys and gals :)

I have been meaning to purchase some new make-up brushes for a while now. I think I have been using the same brushes since high school! Yikes!

So I was looking at all the makes/types of brushes most people use.  Many people obviously recommended the MAC make-up brushes. But the thought of spending that amount of money on brushes terrified me! I'd rather buy more make-up haha.

I scoured through the internet, looking at many different websites. And just when I was about to abandon ship I discovered these. The XCSOURCE® Professional Make-up Brush Set (24pcs).

They were a reasonable £12.69 from good old Amazon and I used Prime to speed things up seen as I'm so impatient!

I opened the package to find a medium sized pouch sealed with plastic wrapping.

The pouch was in pristine condtion. Although I do admit there is a slight plastic smell to it and to the brushes.  Which is why I wash all of the brushes with shampoo.  I normally use baby shampoo, which I recommend, but I had ran out!

The set includes :

6 x Powder Brush
1 x Fan Brush
1x Eyeshadow Smudge Brush
9x Eyeshadow Brush
1 x Eyebrow Comb Brush
1 x Eyelash Brush
1 x Eyeliner Brush
1 x Lip Brush
2 x Oblique Eyebrow Brush
1 x Concealer Brush

I mainly brought this set for the eye shadow brushes and powder brushes.  I was in dire need of them as I have explained haha. They also have on the brush what each one is for which is handy.

I washed all of the brushes and there was no fall out to be seen. Result!

Here are some photos I took when they arrived. Sorry if they are a bit blurry!

So if your looking for a decent but inexpensive set of brushes look no further! Any questions feel free to ask me! I have also ordered a make-up pallet which should be arriving soon so watch this space!!

Why am I drinking Green Tea??

Hello my lovelies J

I have recently discovered a new magical substance. GREEN TEA!! I’ve never actually tried tea properly until now.  I never thought I would enjoy the taste as it’s not the best flavour in the world! I actually look forward to my morning and night cup!

I have been reading about all the benefits of Green tea as I keep getting told that it’s good for me and can help lose weight.  I wanted to find out if any of this was actual true or just an urban myth. So I used good old Google search and here are my findings so far.

So apparently Green tea has been used as a medicine for thousands of years, originating in China but widely used throughout Asia this beverage has a multitude of uses from lowering blood pressure to preventing cancer.

Also Green tea’s processing avoids the fermentation process (unlike black tea). As a result, green tea retains full amount of antioxidants and poly-phenols the ingredients that give green tea its many benefits.

Here’s a list of some of its amazing benefits I have found out.  Some of these you may be unaware of. Some of these benefits are still being probed, so they may not be entirely accurate according to most websites I looked at.

1.      It’s great to encourage weight loss! Great! Now this is my sort of drink! Green tea increases the metabolism. The polyphenol found in green tea works to increase levels of fat oxidation and the speed at which your body turns food into calories.

   2.      It also helps people suffering with diabetes. Green tea helps normalise glucose levels reducing the rise of blood sugar after consumption. This can avert high insulin spikes, resulting fat storage.

   3.      Heart Disease. Scientists ‘think’ green tea works on the lining of blood vessels, helping keep them stay relaxed and better able to withstand changes in blood pressure. It may also protect against the development of clots, which are the primary cause of heart attacks.

   4.      Esophageal Cancer is also a reason to start drinking this magical drink! It can decrease the risk of esophageal cancer, but it is also widely thought to kill cancer cells in general without harming the healthy tissue around them.

   5.      If you have high cholesterol get drinking! Green tea decreases bad cholesterol in the blood and improves the percentage of good cholesterol to bad cholesterol.

  6.      It helps with Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s (Which we know is a dreadful disease) It is supposed to delay the deterioration caused by Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s. Studies carried out on mice (not sure if I like the sound of that) showed that green tea protected brain cells from dying and restored impaired brain cells.

    7.      If your teeth are starting to show signs of tooth decay this may be the drink for you. Studies suggests that the chemical antioxidant “catechin” in tea can abolish bacteria and viruses that cause throat infections, dental caries and other dental conditions

   8.      It helps your blood pressure. May start getting my boyfriend to have a few cups because his blood pressure is through the roof! Consistent consumption of green tea is supposed to decrease the risk of high blood pressure.

#  9.      Depression. Theanine is an amino acid naturally found in tea leaves. It is this substance that is thought to deliver a calming and tranquilizing effect and be a great benefit to tea drinkers.

10.  Its anti-viral and anti-bacterial. Great, I work in a hospital so you can imagine what sorts of things I could pick up. Tea catechins are strong antibacterial and antiviral agents which make them effective for treating everything from influenza to cancer. In some studies green tea has been shown to hinder the spread of many diseases.

   11.  And lastly skincare. I have noticed in the past week that I have been drinking the tea that my skin seems a lot better. Green tea can apparently also help with wrinkles and the signs of aging (This sounds good to me!) because of their antioxidant and anti-inflammatory activities. Both animal and human studies have confirmed that green tea applied topically can decrease sun damage.

So in conclusion, there’s no harm in having more than a few cups of this tea a day if the benefits are this great.  I will continue to drink the tea for now and see if I can notice any of the benefits. Then I will come back to this in the foreseeable future.

21st Birthday Party

Hello everyone :)

On the 28th of August it was my 21st Birthday!

I feel like a teenager still it just doesn't seem real,  It feels like time is just passing by in an instant.  I guess time flies when your having fun?

I had a few presents from family, friends and my boyfriend.

I had a Pandora bracelet as my main present from my mum and other family members chipped in to add more charms on there.

I had a Fossil necklace from my boyfriend. I'm not sure how he figured out that I wanted it. But I cant complain haha!

As you can see I just got bits and bobs :) and some money I shall be spending on clothes...I think there's a haul post looming in the near future...

I also had a birthday party here is a couple of snaps of me in my dress and me and my boyfriend.

I got this dress from TxMax in Birmingham (£59.99) I saw they only had size ten left so I thought hmmmm lets see if I can actually fit in this thing.  I to my disbelief It fitted, The diet has been paying off (I'll talk about this in another post soon). I also had the help of my waist cincher! It smooths out all my lumps and bumps. And trust me It may not look it but I have a lot of excess fat around my waist and tummy area!

Me and the boyfriend posing for the mandatory picture. You know the ones where all the family gather with a camera each and keep taking them until the flashes send you into a bind haze...

No?

Must be just my crazy family then haha :)

The cake was beautifully made  We purchased it from Costco at a reasonable price of £12.99.  It was a chocolate cake with vanilla filling.  Just what I needed after a whole month (July) of eating healthy.

Overall the day was just what I needed.  Family and friends coming together to celebrate, what could better? It did help that a few drinks where involved though ;)

Just a little bit about me :)

Hello world :)

My name is Katie and I am from the UK England and I am 21 years old.

I am currently working in a receptionist/secretary job role at a big hospital.

My dreams and aspirations are yet to be fulfilled. I want to make changed in the world, impact lives, maybe inspire a few people along the way.

I am starting this blog to share my life with whoever is willing to read and watch my progress in this world.

I'm a simple girl who never asks for much. Just wishing that my life turns out sort of the way I want it to...with a few bumps on the way I'm sure.

I am at a happy stage of my life at the moment. I have a boyfriend who means the world to me.  He is everything I've ever wanted in a man and more!

Turning twenty one recently has made me realise I need to sit back and enjoy the finer things in life. I used to always stress and worry about every little detail.  But I have officially decided to take a back seat and try to figure out what I want in this world and how to get it.

Thanks for reading.

Hoping you will stick around for many more posts to come :)

Spring/Summer 2013 fashion trends: For women

Hi Guys!

Trends may come and go all the time, but more often they simply step it up a notch. From the cold months to the warm ones, you need not completely re-vamp your wardrobe but instead adapt it. Here are the 2013 trends based on the catwalk.

The new metallics

Metallics don’t  have to be limited to tin can silver or vibrant gold. This year metallics range from futurist to glam brocade, precious metals to pastels. Photo taken from Bing Search - under 'Metalic Trend'

Sheer clothing

See- Sheer clothing has worked its way into being a year-round, accepted part of fashion, but it’s with each new season that a new level takes place. Photo taken from Bing Search - under 'Sheer Clothing Trend'

The new boho

There’s always a certain romance that comes with the bohemian, the carefree traveller, the hippie. For spring/summer 2013 it’s present in a form both luxurious and soft, an step up of the boho trends previously. Photo taken from Bing Search - under 'Boho Trend'

Clear plastic

Rain-proof and wind-proof, there’s nothing like a futuristic burst of transparent plastic to 'wow' up an outfit. Look for clear PVC, rubber, perspex or any other material that defies the odds of spring fashion: you’ll be on the right track.  Try looking in Charity shops, they tend to have a lot of nice raincoats! Photo taken from Bing Search - under ,Clear Plastic Trend'

60s fashion

On a particular trend of the 1960s, spring focuses on mod prints, vibrant colours, short hems, and biggg!! hair. Best trend to have fun with if you wan tot stand out! Photo taken from Bing Search - under '60's Trend'

Black and white patterns

It’s closely merged with the trend towards 1960s mod fashion, and with designers like Marc Jacobs behind it you can expect lots of black and white checks and stripes to be in every shop window for spring/summer. Make it your own and rock black and white patterned clothing this season! Get prepared its going to be MAD!! Photo taken from Bing Search - under 'Black and White Trend'

Androgynous fashion

It started out with the pleasant confusion of boys who looked like girls and girls who looked like boys, but androgyny in fashion has mellowed to be more about subtle gender blurring in what we wear. Spring offers up new ideas. Personally I don't like this trend very much I prefer dresses and cute jeans. Photo taken from Bing Search - under 'Androgynous fashion'

Floral appliques

Adding a three dimensional garden to your outfit is the surest way to make it feel like spring. The couture runways did it best in luxurious appliques and intricate beading, but that doesn’t mean you can’t work some floral appliques and embroidery into your own outfits come spring.  Very nice trend, I have a few pieces my self! Photo taken from Bing Search - under 'Floral appliques'

Sporty chic

No longer contain itself to certain sports or the athletic 'track and field', sporty fashion has become modern with more variety items. Photo taken from Bing Search - under 'Sporty Chick Trend'

Crop tops

Owning a cropped top doesn't necessarily require the most toned abs in the world, though it certainly helps in my case :( In spring/summer 2013 the trend continues to be about exposing as much as you like, be it just a peep of upper midriff or a whole show of abs. Personally I have too much flab to pull this one off guys...oh well I can just look at the pictures haha! Photo taken from Bing Search - under 'Crop Top Trend'

Brushstroke prints

Fashion and art collide this spring , with brushstrokes and paint splashes working their way across items in more ways than one.  Haven't seen this trend so much around my area, but maybe it will start emerging soon!

Orange colour trend

Vibrant, bold, and optimistic:orange hues are one way to brighten outfit this spring.  I just brought an orange dress from ebay when I heard about this trend.  Always and excuse to buy new clothes and choose such an obnoxious orange colour... hehe :) Photo taken from Bing Search - under 'Orange Trend'

The white shirt

It’s a wardrobe staple (apparently) no woman should be without: the 'classic' white shirt. Teaming a white shirt with jeans or a skirt is always going to be in fashion! Photo taken from Bing Search - under 'The White Shirt Trend'

Bird prints

Apparently this year spring’s designers have found some strange fascination with these flappy little animals. Bird prints and motifs found their way onto loads of runway. Also I think I have joined this fascination with this print... I think I need psychiatric help!!... too many nice clothes with birds on...ebay account slowly being used more frequently hehe x Photo taken from Bing Search - under 'Bird Print Trend'

Camo prints for women

Camouflage prints have by no means been swayed to the menswear runways. Taking on womanly shapes and abstracted prints, camo gets a brand new reworking for women. I dont like Camo. I kind of feel like one of my brothers old Action Man in his full attire haha!

Disclosure these pictures are not mine or been taken by me.  I do not own these photos.  Please read where I got them from under each paragraph.
